Doxy-PEP, also known as doxycycline post-exposure prophylaxis, is the use of the antibiotic doxycycline to reduce the risk of acquiring certain sexually transmitted infections (STIs) after potential exposure.
It is specifically effective against bacterial STIs like chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. dose of 200 mg of doxycycline is taken within 72 hours of exposure. Doxy PEP needs to be used in conjunction with routine STD testing
